Our guides and information has moved to a Wiki.

The information below is out of date.

    Please use the Wiki.
    Who is this for?
Anyone who has a community and wants to automate posting of event details to save admin time.

    Difficulty / Time
Alerts are quick and easy to create but customising them to your exact liking takes time.

Automatic Event Alerts on Your Discord
    1. Create a webhook on discord for the channel you want events to be posted in. Note we recommend testing the alerts using a admin only channel avoid spamming your racers whilst you test and configure.
      1. Right click a channel on discord and select "Edit Channel"
      2. Select "Integrations"
      3. Click "Create Webhook"
      4. Give the webhook a meaningful name, check the channel is correct, choose an avatar if you wish to use one and then click "Copy Webhook URL"
    2. Once you have the webhook URL Copied to your clipboard go to the JustRace Portal and navigate to Admin --> My Communities --> and then click the Red bell icon to edit webhooks.

Note the bell icon is only shown if webhooks have been enabled by a JustRace Founder.
    3. Click "Create a new Discord Webhook" at the top of the page
    4. Paste the "Webhook URL" you copied in step 1 to the "Webhook URL" field
    5. Complete the rest of the form. You can load an example "Webhook Content" to see a basic example and you can click "Edit Webhook JSON in DiscoHooks" to use a very nice external WYSIWYG tool to create your webhook post. You can also test that the webhook posts to your discord using DiscoHooks.
    6. Use the "Available Variables" to add in the event info you want displaying. For example. Where ever the string "{CommunityName}" is found it will be replaced with the name of your community.
    7. Save the webhook
    8. Test the webhook by creating an event on discord scheduled for approximately 2 hours time and selecting a "Auto announce before hrs:" value of 6 hours.
